Florida State associate head coach Odell Haggins has spoken publicly about his prostate cancer diagnosis for the first time. He told Warchant's Ira Schoffel he was diagnosed at 55, nearly four years ago, per Warchant/On3.

The treatment

After his PSA levels rose again following a year of active surveillance, Haggins chose radiation treatment. Warchant reported he went through 48 radiation treatments, per Warchant on X. More than a year after his final treatment, his PSA numbers are low, he is checked every six months, and he feels like himself again, the story reported.

Why he's talking now

Haggins watched former FSU teammate and close friend Keith Ross die of prostate cancer in early 2025, and said he wishes Ross had been tested regularly, per On3. Schoffel's message after the interview: "Get your tests done!" he wrote on X.

Earlier this month FSU's College of Criminology and Criminal Justice inducted Haggins into its hall of fame and created a scholarship in his name, Florida State University News reported.
